Juan Carlos Williams

For over fifteen years, Juan Carlos Williams has advised companies in various fields, including family businesses and international organizations, not only in Panama but in the United States of America and Spain as well. His areas of expertise are Commercial and Corporate Law, International Law, Immigration and Establishment of foreign companies and special economic regimes.

Before founding Williams & Williams, he practiced law (in-house and external) and was the legal assistance of family offices, international organizations and international corporations in Panama, the United States and Spain.

He was a student intern of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain (MAE – AECI Program) of the Leader Scholarship Program of the Carolina Foundation and the Santander Group’s Cervantes Scholarship Program. Awarded as a Ten Outstanding Young Person (TOYP) by the Junior Chamber of Panama.

Juan Carlos Williams graduated from the Law and Political Science School of Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua (USMA); has a Postgraduate Degree in Financial Markets Law from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid (Spain); Finances from the Alcalá University (Spain) and Taxes from the Universidad Especializada del Contador Público Autorizado (UNESCPA University –Certified Public Accountant). He is also a graduate of the Leadership Program for Global Competitiveness at Georgetown University (USA).

Member of the Panamanian Bar Association and founder of the NGO “Enseña por Panamá”, member organization of the “Teach for All” network.

He has worked as a Private International Law and International Economic Law professor at Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua (USMA) and Universidad de Alta Dirección (ADEN).

Currently separated from the firm while acts as a public servant within the  The General Directorate of Revenues (DGI).
